Founded by us, Kris and Rach.
After working together for over 12 years, we knew the most rewarding part of our work was delivering solutions for clients that were practical, reasonable and ultimately the ‘right thing’ for that business. We’ve seen first-hand how people management can be a major headache for business leaders, so we simplify it.
We enjoy freeing you to run your business.
When the opportunity arose for us to build a business of our own, Empowr was born. A business grounded on doing the right thing for our clients as a priority.
We’re driven by growth, both in the businesses we support and for the individuals within them. Our work is rooted in ambition and resilience, helping you navigate change, build strong leadership, and create high-performing, values-led cultures that last. We bring strength and structure where it’s needed, and we’re not afraid to challenge when it helps you move forward. We’ll solve your HR challenges, whether they are quick queries or complex scenarios.
Most importantly, we’re also human. We value relationships, collaboration, and we believe working together should be enjoyable. We’ll bring energy, expertise, and just the right amount of fun into everything we do; it’s sometimes overlooked when talking about HR!

Rachel Storey

Favourite area of HR: I love to see people grow in confidence and capability which is why training is my favourite part of HR Consultancy, particularly performance management training. While much of HR involves processes, understanding the uniqueness of each business excites me. Each company has different expectations of its people and I enjoy listening, learning and understanding how those expectations align with the broader goals of the organisation.
Least favourite area of HR: Holiday Calculations – especially for a part time employee with irregular hours leaving part way through the year! I used to be good at maths but even I need a moment (and maybe a spreadsheet) to get those right. Whilst I’ll always get you the answer, it’s definitely not a highlight of my day.
Where you’ll find me: Usually at a kid’s sports club with my two boys or playing netball in an evening. When I’m not on the sidelines or on court, I’ll be enjoying time with friends and family, ideally relaxing at a spa with a glass of bubbles or enjoying the sunshine in Portugal.

Favourite area of HR: One of the most valuable tools any business can have is feedback from their employees, and so one of my favourite areas is designing and creating bespoke engagement surveys. It helps me understand your business better, dig into your values and also create colourful graphs – what’s not to love?
Least favourite area of HR: I know it’s an important business process, but TUPE is my least favourite. It doesn’t stop me getting stuck into a TUPE process – I just may need to sit in a quiet room afterwards.
Where you’ll find me: I’m a fan of staying active so you’ll usually find me playing some kind of obscure sport; my most recent obsession is Padel (let me know if you fancy a game!). You can’t beat a decent bar either and anywhere that serves a good Spicy Margarita sounds good to me.
